曾在20世纪末领导过柏林工业大学建筑理论研究所的弗里兹·诺伊迈耶教授(Fritz Neumeyer),于1986年出版的本书德文版Mies Van der Rohe das Kunstlose Wort,Gedanken zur Baukunst,至今已成为建筑理论的经典。本书被翻译成包括英语、西班牙语、法语、韩语和汉语在内的六种语言,在众多密斯研究专著中,成为解读密斯建造哲学及其作品的权威著作,也是深刻理解现代建筑大师精神世界的钥匙。通过对原始素材的深入分析和对大师作品的集中解读,弗里茨·诺伊迈耶勾勒出作为现代建筑杰出代表的密斯,在他建造艺术发展历程中所受影响的渊源、所经历的各种思想矛盾,以及其建造艺术和哲学之间的紧密联系。同时,本书附录首次汇集了密斯在现代建筑时期的所有出版、言论和手稿笔记,成为大师进行建造艺术创作、实践和教育的思想历程的证明,具有不可磨灭的学术价值。

本书由陈旭东先生根据德语版翻译成中文, 中国建筑工业出版社于2020年7月正式出版发行,责任编辑:徐纺、孙书妍,装帧设计:郑邦谦。德国DOM出版社社长Philipp Meuser、南京大学建筑与城市规划学院教授王骏阳、台南国立艺术大学建筑研究所教授汪文琦力荐。

The German edition of Mies van der Rohe Das kunstlose wort, gedanken Zur baukunst, published in 1986 by Professor Dr. Fritz Neumeyer, who led the Institute of architectural theory at the TU Berlin at the end of the 20th century, has become a classic of architectural theory. This book has been translated into six languages including English, Spanish, French, Korean and Chinese. Among the numerous Mies research monographs, this book has become an authoritative work to interpret Mies' architectural philosophy and works, and is also the key to deeply understand the spiritual world of the master. Through the in-depth analysis of the original materials and the concentrated interpretation of the masterpieces, Fritz Neumeyer outlines Mies, as an outstanding representative of modern architecture, in the development of his construction art, he has experienced various ideological contradictions, as well as the close relationship between his construction art and philosophy. At the same time, the appendix of this book collects all the publishing, speech and manuscript notes of Mies in the modern architecture period for the first time, which is the proof of the master's ideological process of architectural art creation, practice and education, and has indelible academic value.

This book was translated into Chinese by CHEN Xudong according to the German version. It was officially published and released by China Construction Industry Press in July 2020.
